Collection: PROBEROS® Professional Spinning Reels Collection
Two reels, one job: reliable spinning
Our spinning range is deliberately narrow. The ACE covers 1000 to 7000 with a 5.1:1 ratio, a 14 kg carbon drag and a CNC aluminium body — finesse bass and perch at one end, surf and light inshore at the other. The KATYUSHA AK series (5000HG and 6000HG) is the high-gear version for fast jigging and long-range casting where retrieve speed matters.
| Size | Best for | Line (braid) | Drag |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1000–2000 | perch, trout, finesse bass, UL | PE 0.4–0.8 | 3–5 kg |
| 2500–3000 | bass, zander, sea bass, light jigging | PE 0.8–1.2 | 6–8 kg |
| 4000 | pike, inshore, light surf | PE 1.2–1.5 | 8–10 kg |
| 5000–6000 | jigging 60–150 g, shore, light offshore | PE 1.5–2.5 | 10–14 kg |
| 7000 | heavy surf, big fish from shore | PE 2.5–3 | 14 kg |
What the numbers actually mean
Gear ratio is turns of the rotor per turn of the handle — 5.1:1 is a general-purpose ratio that retrieves about 75–85 cm per turn on a 4000-size reel. High-gear versions (6.2:1 and up) retrieve faster but lose torque, which is why they suit jigging and long casts rather than deep cranking. Max drag is a ceiling, not a working number: fish at 30–50% of it, or the drag washers heat and the spool judders.
Setting drag and maintenance
Set drag with a scale at roughly a quarter of the line's breaking strength, then check it by pulling line off by hand — it should come off smoothly with firm resistance. After every saltwater trip, back the drag off completely, rinse the reel with fresh water (never dunk it), and dry it before storing. Carbon drag washers tolerate heat far better than felt, which is why the ACE holds a steady pull on long runs.
Frequently asked questions
Is 5.1:1 fast enough for jigging? For slow pitch and general inshore work, yes. For speed jigging over 80 m, the AK high-gear models retrieve line noticeably faster.
Can the 1000 size handle salt water? It is built for it, but the small spool limits line capacity — use it for light inshore and pier work, not for long-running fish.
How often should a reel be serviced? Once a season with fresh grease on the main gear and oil on the bearings; immediately if it has been submerged.
